PURPOSE:To prevent photographing of an underexposed picture by setting a focal length having an open F value at which the flash light reaching distance becomes shorter than the subject distance when the subject distance is longer than the flash light reaching distance when a photograph is taken with flash light. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a photograph is taken with flash light by using an electronic flashing device 103, an arithmetic means 105 calculates the flash light reaching distance based on the open F value at an arbitrary focal length of a zoom lens 101 and the guide number of the device 103. When the subject distance detected by a subject distance detecting means 102 is longer than the flash light reaching distance calculated by the means 105, a lens drive controlling means 106 sets a focal length having an open F value at which the flash light reaching distance becomes shorter than the subject distance and drives the zoom lens 101 so that the focal length of the zoom lens 101 can become the set focal length. Therefore, photographing of an underexposed picture can be prevented. |
