The invention proposes new N.beta.-substituted derivatives of 8-.beta.- aminoethylergolin-I of the general formula I (I) wherein R1 designates a straight or a branched alkyl with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, a phenylalkyl the alkyl of which contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms and the phenyl moiety of which can be mono-, di or trisubstituted with chlorine, bromine, a hydroxy group or an alkoxy group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 designates a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R3 designates a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, as well as pharmaceutically suitable addition salts therof with inorganic or organic acids, and methods of preparing the same. These compounds exhibit, in particular, a remarkable prolactin-inhibitory effect.
