<p>AUTOMATIC DISHWASHING DETERGENT COMPOSITION Edward J. Maguire, Jr. Bleach-free granular detergent compositions for use in automatic dishwashers comprising an alkoxylated nonionic surface-active agent, a sulfonated aromatic compatibilizing agent and a mixture of an alkali sulfite and an alkali sulfate in a specific weight ratio. Preferred nonionic surfactants include ethoxylated nonionics and preferred compatibilizing agents can be selected from xylene-, toluene-, cumene-, benzene-, trimethyl benezene-, ethylbenzene- and ethylmethyl benzenesulfonates. The sulfite-sulfate mixture is present in a weight ratio of sulfite to sulfate from about 1:4 to about 2:1. The instant compositions possess enhanced antiredeposition properties for soils composed of grease and greaseprotein complexes and, in addition, exhibit improved cleaning properties particularly for burned-on soils.</p> |
