TOROIDAL LIKE SADDLE YOKE A deflection yoke for a color television picture tube includes a saddle-type winding wound directly on a magnetic core. The core is provided with slots on each end, formed either directly in the core material or by attaching slotted rings to each end of the core, such that each turn of the winding formed on the core may be exactly positioned along the inside surface of the core by stretching the wire between corresponding slots on opposite ends of the core. End turns are formed contemporaneously with the winding by running the wires annularly about the outside surface of the core between respective exiting and re-entry slots for each turn.
