<p>The optoelectronic coupling element consists of an LED (4) mounted inside one half of the coupler's circular housing (1) and connected by wires (5) to external tape terminals (13), a photodiode or phototransistor (8) mounted inside the other half of the housing (2) and connected by wires (9, 11) to an amplifying transistor (10), which is connected to the external tape terminals (14) of that half of the housing. The active surface of the LED and photodiode face one another. The two housing halves are soldered together, by metal or glass (6, 12), at their edges to give a completely sealed component able to witstand the severest environment.</p> |
