The process comprises compacting or comprising the bactericide in granular form and then submitting it to the action of moist air or water vapour at below 100 degrees C, before incorporating the bactericide in the hygroscopic salt. The bactericides such as chloramine T, N-chloroacetanilide, etc. in a hygroscopic salt under the effect of moist air hydrolyse slowly giving off halogen and losing biocidal efficacy. The process avoids this by forming a film or layer of amine and/or chloramine protecting the bactericide. The treatment only involves the loss of is not >3% halogen.
