Non-linear amplifier for recurrent pulses - has linear amplifier at output of blocking trigger with periodically varied threshold

The nonlinear amplifier, for recurrent pulses, consists of a linear amplifier preceded by a trigger that prevents input pulses of amplitude greater than its threshold from reaching the amplifier. The trigger has its threshold made to decrease in time throughout each cycle of the input pulse train. The trigger contains a variable amplitude generator synchronised to the repetition frequency of the input pulses. A discriminator compares the generator output amplitude with that of the pulses and controls a switch that allows the difference between the amplitudes of the pulses and the generator output to reach the amplifier when this difference has a given value.
