<p>The appts. is used for detection of overheating and outbreaks of fire in given spaces. The sensor has an elongated transmission device for electromagnetic radiation. Its characteristics is such that the radiation transmitted through the device changes with the temperature of the whole device, or of a part of it. A transducer is used for conversion of the radiation into an electric signal. It receives the radiation at the transmission device end, and generates an electric signal depending on the changes in the received radiation due to temperature changes.</p> |
