Device for controlling the current supplied to dish washers or washing machine during a programmed cycle controlled electronically, includes a measuring resistance which supplies a value of voltage proportional to that of the mains supply to an analog-digital converter whose output signal is fed to a micro-processor. Micro-processor has a number of registers in which are stored preset reference values, the signal supplied by the converter being compared with the values in the respective one of the registers. Current supplied below or above predetermined values leads to tripping of the machine. Fault in a machine member causes the faulty current supply is indicated by the display panel.
