<p>A road coating, durably non-skid, with good adherence to black coatings and concreted roads, is made from a mixt. of (i) component A contg. 79-05 wt. % epoxy resin and 30-5 wt. % reactive diluent miscible with the epoxy resin; (ii) component B, an amine-based hardener, the number of mobile H atoms in N-H gps. being at least that of glycidyl gps. in A; (iii) 20-50 wt. % (w.r.t. A+B) tar pitch. A and B are liq. at ordinary temp., the mixt. has low viscosity and a working time long enough for its manual application. Additives, e.g. bauxite, can be applied to the coating. It hardens completely relatively quickly and then has similar traction/lengthening behaviour to a bituminous road coating The coating can be applied conventionally and economically and adheres well to various road surfaces. It has good resistance to physical and chemical action, e.g. by abrasion, oil, fuel, thawing salts.</p> |
