Contact system for HV circuit breaker - has acoustic low-pass filter to remove oscillating component on blowout gas flow

The contact system, for a circuitbreaker (110 kV or more) with SF6 as the blow-out gas, has a hollow switching piece to guide the blow-out gas to the contact zone. The switching piece (2) has an acoustic filter (14) that removes the oscillating component of the gas flow whilst allowing the non-oscillating continuous component to pass through, i.e. the filter may be an acoustic lowpass. The filter consists of a sieve-like insert (15) covering the inner wall of the switching piece at a distance.
