The tool for cutting hard skin has a handle (1) and curves downwards at the front. On the top of this sloping face (6) is a rib (5) against which locates a blade. A flap (2) above swings down to secure the blade. The front tip of the sloping end has a groove (9) across it and the flap has a hooked finger (8) which fits into the groove when the flap is swung down. The flap is flanged down (10) each side and the ends remote from the finger have holes for a hinge pin (11) through the front end of the handle. The flap can be of metal and the handle of plastics. Alternatively, the tool can be completely of plastics.
