The connector system is intended for selective coupling of e.g. a battery charger (main appliance) to several accumulator batteries etc. Both the main and secondary appliances are provided with a number of connecting elements. To the connecting elements of the main appliance are supplied control signals. The connecting elements of the secondary appliances are less numerous than those of the main appliance. All the connecting elements are mounted on a contact plate (10, 15), preferably in a row. On the main appliance the connecting elements may be in the form of sprung contacts (11-14), while those of the secondary appliances are in the form of fixed flat contacts (110, 120, 130).
