The enamelled wire is connected to the component contact element by soft soldering using a measured out quantity of solder and a controlled source of heat. The solder (12) is applied to the enamelled wire (4) inserted into the contact element (3). The wire and contact element are connected to different potentials of a control circuit (15, 16). Then the elements to be connected and the solder are heated, so that the contact element (3) and solder (12) reach the soldering temperature first. When the enamel on the wire melts and contact is established, the current so produced disconnects the heat source (11).
