The base surface of the record-player needle is an adhesive surface and the rounded vertex of the needle advantageously coincides with a rough diamond tip. The needle carrier (22) has a stop face (20) which has resting against it an adjusting facette (16) of the needle. The stop face may be glued to the adjusting facette. The adjusting facette may extend up to a maximum into the cross section of contact. The needle carrier may be made of boron. The needle may be two-part, consisting of diamond above a boundary face and of preferably boron below it.
