An expansible dowel for anchoring in a borehole comprises a dowel body 1 having, in its forward region (which is inserted into the borehole) an inclined slot 4 accommodating a trapezium-shaped plate-like expansion element 2 of which the wider end protrudes beyond the peripheral contour of the body and is turned towards the rearward end of the body which is formed with force-applying means, enabling axial force to be applied to the body, in the form of a screw- thread 3. An expansion tool comprises a rod which can be coupled to the dowel body 1 by the thread 3 and on which is a weight which can be slid along the rod to impact a stop thereon, to produce a force which transmits pre-expansion force to the dowel. <IMAGE> |
