<p>An improved apparatus and method for cleaning automatic transmission torque converters which includes means for rotating the turbine within a stationary casing having a hollow hub leading to the interior of the casing, a reservoir for storing a predetermined supply of liquid cleaner or solvent, an electrically operated motor coupled to a rotatable spindle for rotating the turbine within the casing, the apparatus being further provided with a liquid pressure pump operated by the motor, or other suitable means, having means associated with the pump for supplying the liquid to a liquid directing unit for directing the liquid under pressure to the rotatable turbine and about the inner surface of the torque converter casing and back through the hollow hub of the casing to the liquiddirecting unit which directs the cleaning liquid back into the reservoir.</p> |
