PURPOSE:To provide the subject method and device wherein, in varying the line speed in a continuous heat treatment furnace consisting of a plurality of control regions, the furnace is controlled on the basis of a fuel required quantity calculated in each control region, thereby maintaining the temperature of each strip at the furnace outlet at a predetermined value.
