Appts. for converting tubular thermoplastic film into pads of plastic bags with loop handles comprises twin pairs of transverse welding jaws sepd. by a film path having an adjustable offset guide roll to vary the effective distance between the jaws. Successive pockets of film are cut off together with a tab adjacent to the trailing seal which can be perforated and welded in alignment with tabs on a bank of other pockets to form a deck of bags with perforated tear zones for eventual individual sepn. Subsequently a broad patch is die cut from the other end of the deck of bags, to cut across the leading welds and simultaneously create the bag mouths and the loop handles. Used for continuously producing blocks of bags of various lengths with integral loop handles of various widths and depths, simply by adjusting a guide roll and an interchangeable cutter blade. |
