<p>The petrol consumption calculator measures the instantaneous petrol consumption of a vehicle carburettor. Counters record signals produced by two pickups measuring the petrol passing through the carburettor, and the distance covered by the vehicle. The distance covered is determined by a magnetic pickup device. When a given distance has been covered, the petrol consumed during that interval is memorised. The measurement of consumption is then restarted, after giving a result in litres per 100 km. The magnetic pickup determining distance travelled may be connected to the speedometer to avoid any additional mechanical connections.</p> |
