The phonographic record discs charge with static electricity which attracts dust and fibres which detract from fidelity of reproduction. A carbon fibre brush is connected to conduct static electricity to ground. A brush (1) of carbon fibres (6) is carried by horizontal arm (2) on support (3) fixed to upper panel of record player. Brush sweeps over record disc (5) on rotating platform (4). The brush fibres are fixed in tubular element (7) which fits into slot in tube (9) on arm (2). A slot (14) in horizontal vertical section (12) of support (3) enables arm to be attached to central movable core (16) through which screw (20) passes to permit height adjustment of the brush.
