The cage comprises in combination a trough with sloping sides which slope outwardly towards the open top and at least one grid or a set of grids. The grid is provided with a number of spaced openings and its dimensions are such that it can be fitted in the trough. The size of openings in the grid and their spacings are arranged to suit one size of pot. The same trough can be used with different grids for handling pots of different sizes.
