This invention relates to the processing of fine-grained alkaline earth oxides which are produced by firing raw material, such as dolomite in a kiln, the invention residing in the steps of compressing into lump form fine-grained alkaline earth oxides which have been produced as aforesaid and then again firing such lumps in a kiln so that said raw material will have been subjected to two kiln firing processes.
