The present invention relates to a reagent for the fluorimetric determination of transferase and protease activity in samples of biological fluids. The transferase and protease activity is determined by fluorimetry at wavelengths corresponding generally to those employed in fluorimetric determinations employing NADH, by means of a novel substrate consisting essentially of certain fluorescent derivatives of 5-aminoisophthalic acid coupled to amino acids specific for the transferases and proteases to be determined. The invention also applies to the use of the reagents for this determination.
