The electromagnetic relay is based on a conventional comb relay but has a low profile height. It comprises an armature (10) which is in the form of a frame and is supported such that it can rotate about a side edge (11) of a core (12) in such a manner that the coil (13) is located in the opening which is formed by the frame shape of the armature. A part of the frame lifts a comb which consists of insulating material and, for its part, operates the springs or the spring sets of the relay, which are mounted along the frame. As a result of this design of the relay core and armature and the creation of large overlapping regions between the core and the armature, the wear on the relay is reduced and its life is extended. <IMAGE> |
