A two-pole three-way switch is provided in the motor circuit. It breaks the motor circuit in its first position, and closes it in its second position through a current limiting circuit, and directly in its third position. The current limiting circuit(S) has a controllable semi-conductor rectifier(Th). A control circuit blocks the rectifier during each voltage half-wave at least up to the voltage maximum. The rectifier control lead is connected to the collector of a transistor(T). The collector is connected via a resistor(R1) to one of the switch terminals(A). The other terminal(B) is connected to the emitter of the transistor.
