<p>Two welded grids (a, b), one (a) located above the other (b), travel simultaneously out of the machine and through two pairs of shears which may operate in the same vertical plane or in different vertical planes, and the distance between the vertical planes is pref. adjustable. An upper shear blade (c) is located above grid (a), and used in conjunction with a shear blade (d) below grid (a) but above a pair of shear blades (e, f) used for the lower grid (b). Either the top and bottom blades (c, f) can be driven vertically and used with stationary blades (d, e); or driven blades (d, e) can be used with stationary blades (c, f). When the two middle blades (d, e) are stationary, they can be mounted on a single carrier, and the double shears (c, d, e, f) moved longitudinally as a single unit along the grids (a, b). The prodn. of welded grids is increased by making two grids simultaneously; and the double shears are designed to cut the welded grids to the length required.</p> |
