The wind mechanism is for a motor vehicle seat belt. Its drum is loaded in the winding direction by a spiral spring. A second spiral spring (10) is arranged parallel to the first spiral spring (6). The second spring is connected to drum only during the winding. The second spiral spring may be alternatively connected to the drum only towards the end of the winding up process to ensure accelerated winding up.
