<p>The nitromethane may be used alone or as an adhesive additive. Pref. the nitromethane adhesive comprises >=30% nitromethane and =70% of other volatile organic liquids boiling 200(150) degrees C, e.g. acetone, methyl acetate, chloroform, dichloromethane, etc. Used for acrylic glass, esp. of the extruded type, a mixt. of nitromethane and dichloromethane in a wt. ratio of 30:70-80:20 being partic. effective. The bonding obtd. is free from bubbles and turbidity. A polymer, e.g. PVA cellulose acetobutyrate, may be present in the adhesive mixt. which can then be used to bond other materials, e.g. wood, paper, leather, metal, glass, ceramics, PVC, etc.</p> |
