<p>Metals are extracted from ore deposits by leaching with a soln. contg. a solubilising anion, drawing off the metal-contg. soln, sepg. the metal and regenerating the soln. by contact with an ion-exchanger resin of the solubilizing anion type. Used for extn. of Cu, Ni, Mo, Re, Se, V or esp. U. Total dissolved solids in the formation water used for extn. are not increased, nor is there any appreciable addn of cations, making restoration of the original water quality simple or even unnecessary, after extn. is complete. Use of weakly basic resins makes their regeneration easy.</p> |
