The plastics cover in buildings is made by joining a number of plastics strips. The joints can be pressure tested. The cover is made from PVC and it is resistant to impacts and tearing. The adjacent strips are connected by narrow plastics strips on different sides. One edge of the narrow strip is connected on the underside of the strip edge and the other narrow strip edge is connected to the top face of strip edge. The connections can be by welding or adhesive bonding, and a three ply joint is made. The spacing material used leaves channels between strips. These channels are used for bonding tests with pressurised air or liquid. Leaks are readily observed when transparent material are used. |
