<p>Arrangement for advancing the tape in a magnetic-tape appliance includes an installation supplying the tape, transducers, and an installation taking up the tape; and 1st and 2nd drums of which each has a tape-carrying and a frictiona -drive surface. The drums revolve about spaced, parallel, coplanar axles near the transducers; the tape being partly looped about the tape-carrying surfaces of the drums. There is a tape-pulling roller with a circumferential surface used as frictional drive. MEans are provided for supporting this roller between the drums, its frictional surface being in contact with those of the drums. The roller has a plastics hub and is coated with a hard, impact- and wear-resistant, machinable, plastics, pref. a polyurethane.</p> |
