摘要 In order to make portable electrical apparatuses, which are operated using rechargeable batteries, ready for use again in a very short time but to maintain them in the fully-charged state if they are not used immediately, the charging arrangement must be able to carry out both rapid charging and charge maintenance. This charging arrangement has a direct-axis transistor (5) in the charging path (2), a resistive charge-maintaining branch (9) in parallel with the direct-axis transistor, and a voltage divider (11, 12) in parallel with the battery (1). The direct-axis transistor is controlled via a threshold arrangement (15) which is connected to the tab on the voltage divider and has two threshold values (US1, US2). Furthermore, a threshold-value switch (17) is arranged in parallel with the battery, which threshold-value switch (17) has a third threshold value (US3), responds to the no-load voltage on the charging terminals and, via a delay element (18), connects a resistor (20) in parallel with the base branch (11) of the voltage divider, which resistor (20) reduces the voltage, which passes to the threshold-value arrangement (15) on no-load, below the lower threshold value (US2) so that the direct-axis transistor is controlled to switch on. Thus, when a battery is connected, rapid charging starts immediately until the upper threshold value (US1) is reached and a transition is made to charge maintenance. <IMAGE>
