<p>In a machine comprising a rotating shaft (3) having a speed of rotation which varies from a few revolutions per minute to several thousand revolutions per minute, a non contact rotational speed detector is installed. The detector comprises a mobile active element (1) fixed to the shaft and bearing four circumferentially disposed ferromagnetic pieces (2). The static element of the detector present a surface closely adjacent the active element and bearing a magnetic field transducer (6) which emits pulses as the pieces (2) pass by. The resulting output pulse train is electrically monitored.</p> |
