The rig for a sailing surf-board has a sail of circular or regular polygonal form enclosed over about two-thirds of its total edge length by a bow-shaped mast. The mast may have a rigid or pivoted mounting on the hull. A bow-shaped member (27) on each side of the sail (4) is attached to the free ends (21) of the mast (20) and provides a mounting point for the aft end of the boom (9). The sail (4) may be flattened or slackened by a cord passing through the sail and serving to pull the two vertical members (21) together.
