The resilient metal bar in the railway track fixing clamp is bent so as to have a straight section (7) followed by four other sections (17, 9, 18, 8). These are shaped so that the installed clamp has its first section aligned horizontally, with the third and fifth sections lying on both sides of its longitudinal axis. The third or fifth has a flat face lying against the underside of the first when the clamp is in position. The second or fourth section may have a part crossing above part of the fourth or second.
