Cross-country ski binding with snap fitting - provides automatic engagement of ski boot by use of locating pins matching holes in boot sole

The cross-country ski binding includes a ski boot location plate(4) which has horizontal pivot location(1, 2) on the ski(3). The front end of the plate(4) has two vertical sides(5) with inward bent edges to retain the ski boot sole. By pressing the toe end of the location plate down, its front edge is anchored by an undercut spring clip(9). A hinged mounting plate(7), below the location plate(4) carries at its front end three pins(10) which penetrate the location plate and engage matching holes in the ski boot sole, thus retaining the boot in its location.
