The swashplate transmission is partic. intended for an axial piston engine. The centre of the swashplate (41, 42) which is connected to the pistons (2) by piston rods (3), is carried on an inclined shaft end (71) which is eccentrically inclined relative to the engined shaft (7). The swashplate is carried (411) on the spherical support (6, 422) in the housing (5). The swashplate bearing (8) on the inclined shaft (71) and the engine shaft bearing (10) in the housing are axial-radial bearings so that axial piston forces are transmitted to the housing and lateral components are transmitted via the spherical support (422).
