The bottle filling machine with a rotary filling table (3) underneath the reservoir vessel (12) for the liquid to be dispensed, has a number of hollow vertical columns (4) between the table and a division plat (11) supporting the vessel. Inside each column (4) is a lifting spindle (5) which passes through this plate (11) to locate at the top over the cover (121) of the vessel (12). This spindle is externally threaded for adjustment where it passes through the plate. The bottom part of the column is also externally screw threaded, and engaged by a chain sprocket so that it can be raised and lowered. The bottom of the column also carries guide slots for this vertical travel.
