Article adapted to suppress or reduce booming or droning noise has a boom-damping mass and >=1 suction cup for fastening it to the surface of an object, e.g. a machine part, whose drone is to be minimised. The suction cup is adjustable by means of a screw-threaded connection which is displaceably mounted in the boom-damping mass. A spring-loaded screw capping extends over the damping mass and has a screw-threaded portion associated with the screw-threaded connection of the suction up. The claimed article is an injection-moulded, plasticised PVC sheet contg. fillers and provided with moulded-on suction cups.
