The control signal (U30) for the apparatus is derived from the relationship of the frequency of the transmitted signal on the ambient pressure. The transmitted signal is converted into a voltage corresponding to the frequency, and from the rising and falling ranges of the frequency are derived digital signals the mutual relationship in time of which determines the channel to be controlled. In the receiver there is a frequency-voltage converter having a phase regulating circuit which responds both to the magnitude and to the direction of frequency change.
