Expulsion resistant intestinal plug - has gripping ring and depth indicator scale and fits inside flanged insertion sleeve

The plug inserted into the body of a patient, in connection with an intestinal complaint has a sleeve(1) made of resilient material, inside which fits the removable part(2). The outer end of the sleeve carries a flange and this fits into a hole in a carrier plate(3) which fits against the patient's body, and acts as a support. Attached to the outer end of the removable part is a stem(6) with gripping ring(7) for removing the plug(2) from the sleeve(1). This stem carries an indicator scale(8) showing the depth of the plug.
