Cine camera with an electric motor drive for the shutter in which release of the shutter/drive release button ensures that the shutter stops in a position which leaves the film gate covered and light-tight. This is accomplished by a mechanical stop mechanism (11 to 16) with a specific slotted 'home' position. The shutter (7) has a fixed connection to the central spindle (11) which carries the slot (12) for homing. This ensures the film (5) is not fogged when the camera is idle. When the camera and shutter are in operation the homing latch (14) is held off the spindle (11) by an electromagnet (18).
