Cooling tower with forced flow fan - has power generator mounted centrally in base with fan mounted around it in annular chamber

The cooling tower with forced flow is used for removing condensation heat of large steam operated power station. An endless bladed assembly on the cooling tower base to act as a fan. It is driven by a linear motor. The fan (4) has horizontal blades. The cooling tower outside basewall (2) is cylindrical above the fan blading and this wall is supported on struts. The power station is built within the cooling tower inner cylinder wall (11). This inner wall is held within the cooling tower struts (12). The fan is fitted in the annular space between the inner and outer cylinder walls.
