An aircraft hold has ball/roller tracks and a powered endless belt traction device running between guiderails. A transfer device pulls a carriage (8) with rollers (11) locating it in the guiderails. A horizontal turntable (14) mounted in this carriage supports a horizontally pivoted (18) lug which is (19), spring-loaded into the upright position against a stop to take side thrust from one direction but collapsible by thrust from opposite. Spring loaded plunger (24, 25, 26) catches in the turntable permit setting the lug to face either way along the track.
