The invention relates to a device for adjusting the upper and lower parts of forming and/or cutting tools during the fitting thereof into a guide frame or into a press, with the use of a ring gauge. The aim of the invention is in particular to reduce the time required for the adjusting operation. The invention is based on the object of varying the form and arrangement of the ring gauge in conjunction with the shape of the tool. According to the invention, the ring gauge is designed in such a way that it has, on the inside, circular conical outer surfaces which extend towards both end faces and which have a central offset of defined size relative to one another, and that these outer surfaces of the ring gauge coincide with conical outer surfaces of the tool halves and these outer surfaces of the tool halves have central offsets of defined sizes relative to the respective active tool parts which form the workpiece contour. <IMAGE>
