<p>The rescue winch for high burning building has a hand operated lowering gear held in readiness at suitable points in the building. The lowering gear(1) consists of a cable drum driven through a reduction gear operated by a crank arm(6). The cable(15) from the drum(1) is led over a pulley(18) fitted to the cantilever(13) mounted underneath the lintel of the window(20). At the end of the cable a netbag(16) is attached, with a top opening to enable the person to crawl in.</p> |
