Transverse cutting machine for continuous strip materials - has auxiliary drive to lock machine at TDC if fault occurs

A machine which cuts continuous strips of material transversely is driven by a main motor connected by the transmission system to the auxiliary motor. On machine failure, a signal is transmitted to the control circuit which cuts off the power to the auxiliary motor. When the cutting blade of the machine reaches top dead centre the transducer transmits a signal to the control system which, in turn, transmits a signal through the circuit which applies the electro-magnetic brake and stops the motor. This results in the cutting blade of the machine being locked at its t.d.c. position.
