The kit contains a stamp holder, a pad to be impregnated with indelible ink, a preprinted order card for ordering a stamping plate with the desired inscription which is to be written on the card, and pref. a bottle contg. the necessary ink. Pref. an ink which etches glass is used, esp. one which contains 5-10% hydrofluoric acid and a white pigment as additives. The kit is used to apply an indelible inscription, e.g. name and address, to automobile windscreens, cameras, radios, etc., in order to deter thieves.
