<p>The invention provides apparatus for use in a device which extracts power from the relative movement between a body on a water surface, which body is moved by waves, and a part which is restrained from being so moved by waves, which apparatus comprises sensing means sensitive to at least one of the parameters, namely displacement position, velocity, or acceleration of the relative movement between the body and the said part, where displacement position is measured relative to the equilibrium position when at rest in calm water, the said means generating an output signal indicative of the said parameter or parameters, and feedback means for generating a force dependent upon the said output signal and for applying the force to the body.</p> |
